Spring (take 26)

This is without a doubt the most inspiring time of year for me.
I guess Spring has always been a time for inspiration; A time for reinvention, a time for change, a time of rebirth, and a time for great weather!

Today I spent a few hours by the pool (Pierce Park). Daniel island is an amazing place to live, and I would love to know that one day I will able to buy a home here. It doesn't get too much more picturesque; Beautiful Oaks with draping Spanish moss, clean streets, smiling children, docks over salt marsh', grassy parks. All of these tug at the depths in me.

As I was lying by the pool, I caught a live oak out the corner of my eye. Not a terribly large one, but one with at least one hundred years under her belt. It's an amazing thing to look at and think of what this old tree must have experienced over the century or two which it has been in existence. What is her birthday? Why did her long thick branches decide to curve in the directions they curve? How many fierce thunderstorms has she stood strong in? I must have spent the better part of half an hour pondering over this beautiful body of life.

Heima

Sigur Ros.

This band means everything to me. The music, their videos, and the members alike are nearly perfect pieces of art. Their video for "Glosoli" is perhaps one of the best visual pieces I've ever laid eyes upon. Truly breathtaking. Definitely the best $1.50 I've ever spent on iTunes. Nothing better captures the beauty of life.

My reason for this post is to point out how amazing and perfect their latest work is. They have recorded a full length film of beautiful landscapes and live performance footage; all of which was shot in their beautiful homeland of Iceland. Everyone should grab a warm cup of coffee, bundle up in your favorite blanket and experience this film.

The worst taste in music

The title is contradictory, as I've been running across the best music as of late.

Dntel "Life is Full of Possibilities":
This is music that takes you anywhere you want to go. I already know this album will be streaming through the speakers in our (Tribeca Grand) hotel room next weekend. The sounds are memorizing, threading the needle for weaving the most picturesque dreamscapes. Rainy or clear, this is an album for the night time. A night in the city. Let the ambulance sirens and automobile horns come and go as they may; there is room in these songs for the added noise that may present itself outside your hotel window.

British Sea Power "Do you Like Rock Music":
Maybe it's because both sides of my family are of British decent; I've always been drawn to everything British and their bands alike. It doesn't help that the four members names are Yan, Noble, Hamilton, and Wood. I have been following this band since the release of "The Decline of British Sea Power" and I swear they are making music directly intended for me.
They inspire me in so many ways.
In a month they will be playing in little old Mount Pleasant.
