On The Most Picturesque Island

I dream of perfect places often. When people ask the question "Are you a dreamer or a realist?" ... I struggle to find an answer. I like to think of myself as a logical "real" person when it comes down to my train of thought. But there is no doubt in my mind that i am a dreamer. I dream...and dream. Dream of perfect places, perfect people, perfect weather patterns, perfect smells and sounds..... Will I ever find these perfect situations? Well I've scene hints of them, and quite often. I've scene God's hand in many places. And in these places I live. I want to live. Soak every moment in, not let one bit slip away.

I've decided to make a playlist that would play in these perfect places... Where the sun rises to commence a new day in an ever fluorescent bloom.... Where all is love. The crash of small teal waves onto white sand... Where palms and flower-bearing trees meet white sand to offer hints of shade... The wind-swaying palms that desire to embrace the ends of the most comfortable hammock. The most amazing book in one hand; the most soothing iced drink in the other. A horizon painted with hues of purple pink and orange. A day that will soon fall to the most serene twilight...

A playlist in progress:

"When You Wake Up Feeling Old" Wilco
"Extraordinary Machine" Fiona Apple
"Summer Teeth" Wilco
"In the Springtime" Maxi Priest
"Leaving Babylon" 311
"More Than This" Charlie Hunter feat. Norah Jones
"Fresh" Daft Punk
"Stay Out Of Trouble" Kings of Convenience
"Rosebud" Ryan Adams & the Cardinals
"Wordless Chorus" My Morning Jacket
"Dark Water & Stars" Natural Calamity

"And me, I still believe in paradise. But now at least i know it's not some place you can look for, cause it's not where you go. It's how you feel for a moment in your life when you're apart of something, and if you find that moment..... its lasts forever...." Richard - "The Beach"

Chillingly Divine Celestial Female Vox

Nina Persson of The Cardigans: Maybe it's because she is from Sweden, but for some reason I have always been drawn to her music. She looks innocent and beautiful, but her lyrics reveal a bit more danger. None the less, her soft beautiful voice over a four piece band pulls me in. Lately, I have been listening alot to the dark "Long Gone Before Daylight."
5 Nina Persson iTunes to indulge:
"Iron Man"
"Celia Inside"
"Erase/Rewind"
"Couldn't Care Less"
"I Need Some Fine Wine and You Need To Be Nicer"

Eisley: The imagery of the lyrics floating the DuPree sisters is one thing. The three sisters harmonize with the utmost elegance and style. I purchased their cd "Room Noises" last summer after I saw them perform live and have yet to put it aside. They have amazing stage presence and their vocals sound just as amazing live as they do on their studio tracks.
5 Eisley iTunes to get:
"Just Like We Do"
"Golly Sandra"
"Marvelous Things"
"Brightly Wound"
"My Lovely"

Blue Eyes Meets Bed-Stuy

Ok. This one's not out in stores. DJ Cappel & Smitty mixed the Notorious B.I.G. and Frank Sinatra and the result; "Blue Eyes Meets Bed-Stuy." If you are a Biggie fan, you will love this. More amazing than Danger Mouse's Jay-Z & Beatles collaboration "The Grey Album."

The track list is as follows:
Juicy - New York, New York
Everyday Struggle - A Day In The Life of a Fool
Nasty Boy - For Every Man There's a Woman
Come On - My Way of Life

Interlude - The World We Know (Over & Over)
Dead Wrong - In My Room (Nancy Sinatra)
Let's Get It On (feat. 2Pac) - Rain In My Heart
Hypnotize - Little Green Apples
Interlude

10 Crack Commandments - Fools Rush In

Runnin / Victory 2004 - A Long Night

Unfoolish (feat. Ashanti) - Out Beyond The Window
